Description

This smoked salmon potato pizza combines a crispy potato base with creamy herb cheese and smoky salmon for an unforgettable flavor experience. Perfect for a quick dinner with friends or a cozy family gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g potatoes (waxy recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 150 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella or gouda)
  • 200 g herb cream cheese
  • 150 g smoked salmon (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon dill (fresh or dried)

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them coarsely. Squeeze out the liquid thoroughly, preferably with a clean kitchen towel. Mix the squeezed potatoes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 150g grated cheese, salt, and pepper. This mixture should hold together well and be slightly sticky.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (or 180°C for fan ovens). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush it with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Spread the potato mixture evenly on it and press it firmly into a 0.5-1 cm thick pizza base. Bake the base for 25-35 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. While the base is baking, mix the herb cream cheese with 1 teaspoon of dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl until a homogeneous cream forms. The mixture should be creamy and well-seasoned to enhance the flavor.
  4. Remove the slightly cooled potato base from the oven and spread the cream cheese-dill mixture evenly on top. Artfully arrange the smoked salmon slices on the cream.
  5. Optionally, you can place the topped potato pizza back in the oven for 5-10 minutes at 150°C to allow the flavors to meld slightly and warm the topping without cooking the salmon. Cut the pizza into pieces and serve warm. Garnish with fresh dill if desired.
